In the summer of 2013, I climbed a waterfall with my three best friends and was provided with an aerial view of my entire life from a perspective I had never experienced before. It was eye-opening & beyond intense, and it led me to make a promise to myself to turn my life around in more ways than one.

This began a health kick that brought me from 180 pounds to 156 today and a newfound appreciation for working out my body. Throughout the entire year prior, I was victim to my own stress eating and spikes of depression and it wasn't until June that I could finally stare myself down in the mirror and decide it was time to make a change.

After losing 20+ pounds, I have gotten more comfortable with some old habits but today's huge success has reminded me why I set my goals in the first place and how close I am to succeeding if I just push a little harder. In June, I sat couch-bound, in fear of the treadmill, and today (23 September 2013) I ran 3.11 miles aka a motherclucking 5K. I am closer than ever to my goals & I can't wait to whiz past these milestones into bigger & better achievements.

Above all people, I need to thank my mother & father for financially supporting my new running habit & all of my other friends, brothers, & sisters that have encouraged me to keep doing what's making me happy.

On October 27th, I am running a 5k for Rutgers Against Hunger & everyone should feel an open invitation to join me. (http://ralumni.com/homecomingrun) I am beyond excited. This cause is a very important one considering the sheer amount of people in this country that live below the poverty line. Any help you may offer is greatly appreciated by me and all those you will effect with your donation.
